Awarded poster

During FEMS Euromat 2015 conference, our PhD student M. Sc. Eng. Alice Kosik was awarded with second prize in the best poster category with: “crosslinking stages of 3D alginate for cartilage tissue engineering.” Research presented in the poster were conducted as part of the New-Joint project.

Prof. Swieszkowski and Dr. Wozniak participated in ABMC5

Prof. Wojciech Swieszkowski and Dr. Michal J. Wozniak participated in the 5th Asian Biomaterials Congress (ABMC5) held in Taipei, Taiwan (May 6th through 9th, 2015) where they presented the results of the Polish-Norwegian project New-joint. ABMC5 was organized by the Chinese Taipei Society of Biomaterials and Controlled Release. Meeting was a scientific event in which recent advances of biomaterials were presented and discussed.

New-joint in Rytro and Liverpool

Researchers from Biomaterials Group had two presentations form their studies. Barbara Ostrowska presented a speech: “Effect of Internal Architecture on Mechanical Properties of Polycaprolactone Scaffolds for Tissue Regeneration” (Biomaterials in Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, 9-12 of october 2014, Rytro, Poland) and Joanna Idaszek presented her topic at 26th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (31.08.14-03.09.14) with speech: “Understanding material properties of 3D poly(ε-caprolactone)-based ternary composite scaffolds responsible for highly improved colonization by Human Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells”.

First preliminary studies shown at STM/AFM conference

Przemysław Oberbek from Biomaterials Group presented part of preliminary studies about New-joint project – hydrogel mechanical features in nano scale by AFM microscope. Studies has been presented at VIII Seminar: “Badania prowadzone metodami skaningowej mikroskopii bliskich oddziaływań STM/AFM 2014”. Conference was held 3-7 December in Zakopane. Topic of this presentation was: “Atomic force microscopy as a tool for sodium alginate hydrogel scafolds evaluation for joint tissue regeneration”.

Project kick-off conference Core 2012 Call and CCS 2013 Call

The National Centre for Research and Development, Programme Operator for the Polish-Norwegian Research Cooperation Programme was organising a joint kick-off conference for projects funded in the Core 2012 and the CCS 2013 calls.

The meeting took a place in Warsaw, on 23 April 2014.
